Thanks Brian, hope to put it to the test this weekend. Going to the zoo and thinking about visiting a nearby hut where you can watch birds. I reckon a 400 x 1.6 crop = 640mm must be enough to get some decent shots ;).

My three Astrodon narrowband astrophotography filters (SII, OIII and NII wavelengths) finally arrived. The Moon is on it's way out - clouds, clouds, go away...

Focusing screens and a spare battery. More of a want than need. The 5D Mk2 went up $300 on amazon the last 2 weeks. I got lucky.

EDIT: I forgot to use the Cameralabs Amazon sponsor link. Sorry Gordon. I've only remembered to use it once, with the 5D2. Ugh.

USB 3.0 card reader, it's surprising how quickly these read over the older USB 2.0 ones.

I also got a USB 3.0 card reader and it is great, though on the flakey windows machine, it is sometimes mistaken for a USB 2.0 device. And since I use CF cards, I was disappointed that this expensive little box is just as susceptible to bent pins as the cheaper one.

Well, not actually bought, but given as a present. Does that count too?
A pair of Jamo 704 speakers of grandma. She wanted to get rid of those big, heavy, ´ugly´ speakers. Trash!
Dear grandma, I think I could use them! Nice speakers... very nice, and cheap. Did I say I didnt have to pay anything? :)

Bought it a while ago, but finally it arrived after almost a month:

Canon T3i/600D w/EF-S 18-55mm IS
And a lot of other little things like a spare battery, card reader, lens cleaning kit, camera bag and a 16GB Class 10 SD card.

Yay :D

Thanks! I had quite some fun today and still testing out certain things and tailoring them to my comfort, but probably I'll start shooting actual things pretty soon :)
