I will try to continue my period of general financial austerity until about June 2013. This means little travel, and very few significant purchases.
I plan to visit local places where the Spring migration will bring opportunites to photograph birds passing through the area. This will not be expensive, as fuel usage will be minimal, with no lodging required. I am fortunate to live near the northwest Gulf of Mexico coast! Some birds fly along the coast, and others fly across the Gulf from the Yucatan, and will stop and rest in this area after the flight.
In late May and early June, I will be on leave from work, and will have more financial freedom. Then, I can again contemplate L lenses, full-frame cameras, and perhaps the Canon RT flash system.
I plan to continue to learn more about lighting for photography. I attended two one-day classes in late 2012, and should build upon that.
I plan to give more attention to my health and fitness in 2013 than 2012! I have neglected my level of physical activity to the point that it has become notable when I climb stairs or a hill. I live on flat coastal prairie, but plan to travel to hilly or mountainous areas in the Summer.
