Beautiful shot, the blurred clouds look great, almost as if the mosque were moving.....

WOW! What were your settings that let you go 199-sec? Did you use an ND filter, what grade? WOW!

Thanks guys.

I was using a 3 stop ND filter and a 10 stop ND filter. I could have stretched things a little further by moving down from my D700's native ISO200 to ISO100, which would have given me a 7 minute exposure. Not bad for broad daylight.

f18 - so not fully closed down but close enough and 28mm on my 24-70mm f2.8 because with 2 stacked filters I get vignetting at 24-27mm

i have tried taking long exposure at around F18-F22 and they just dont work for me.. i find that i have to pull back to F16 or even F8 - F11....i need more practice i guess

Good to see you posting again Phil, You've already answered the questions I would have asked. It’s different especially with a day shot.

Cheers

Gorgeous, gorgeous work!

To think a certain bonkers comedian reckons your "primitive" gear is worthless and irrelevant today.
