Hi from work in Norway, I'm from the UK. Snow here is great visibility but short days...

I'm using a DSLR for work, a Nikon D3000, 18-55mm VR/DX... I have no idea what any of that means but I really like using it. Something about hearing the shutter and having something to hold on to. Couldn't figure out the exposure stuff but I expect that would be very useful. It's also alot faster than a phone.

I've put off buying a proper camera myself because I live out of a suitcase. Even a compact is a pain to carry. So I've been using phone cameras...

I saw this:
http://www.slashgear.com/sony-nex-5-and ... t-1185030/
but even that lens looks like a pain to carry.

Perhaps if I combine one of these small DLSRs with an adapter and old lenses from 70's off ebay. Then if I find it's too much to carry, just get a smaller lens... hoping that some kind of ultra low profile lens might come out.

That lens is an extreme example of what you can attach to the Sony NEX range. The 16mm prime lens is much more portable.

Just as an FYI, the Sony NEX series aren't DSLRs as the mechanics are significantly different.
