another cameralabs birthday on the second of december, I believe; its on the same day as my wedding anniversary. That is 7 years for cameralabs, if I recall correctly.

Scary that I remembered it this year, I scored some extra browny points with my wife , after forgetting last year.

Well congratulations for you and your wife! And if indeed it's Cameralab's anniversary as well, congratulations to Gordon and everyone else who has helped to make it what it is now! :D

Happy wedding anniversary, and happy anniversary to Cameralabs as well! Hard to believe that CL's been around for so long, I remember the day that I joined back in 2010, and I remember celelbrating CL's 5th birthday that year. Time seems to just fly!

On a side note, welcome back to the forums, palakaboy! Long time no see!

Got a chance to hold and use for a while a Canon 40D with an EF 24-85 f/3.5-4.5 USM. The camera is a bit old, as well as the lens, but still I was surprised by the results, and I have to admit that it really felt nice in my hands, I really liked it. As for the lens, pretty good IQ, focuses pretty fast, and it felt good in my hands as well. Only thing I felt it was a bit annoying was that the lens extended when zooming, I really don't like that. At least the front element didn't rotate.
Lovely camera, I really liked it :)

Crud, I was told I would have more time with my son but I have to leave early. Also, thanks to the Army contracting system our new camera gear has not made it in BOO. I guess it will be my 40D and 55-250 for the trip over at least. So, unless anything special happens my next photos should be from Afghanistan.

Bit of a bad day for me, first, I threw my phone out the window from a second story building. Surprisingly though, the only damage seems to be a cracked part of the phone's casing. Second thing is that my mail account was compromised. Luckily I could reset it within 1 and a half hours after because whoever hacked me, sent spam emails to all my contacts and one of my contacts is my second email address, so I noticed almost immediately and got it back.
Close call on both things

I played with a 5D3 today pretty extensively, and the guy at the camera shop made me a pretty good offer on the trade-in of my 7D+BG-E7... *sigh* I've spent so much money this year, and I've used my 7D twice this whole year as well... it's collecting dust and being useless, and although it's an absolutely amazing camera I just don't shoot the appropriate subject matter for it to make sense for me anymore.

But if I sell it, I could get a 5D3 for less than $2400 CAD, which is damn near tempting...

Since I do not want another ´thingy' in a famous topic in the ´what camera should I buy? ' section, I would like to ask it here:
Do you know what digital and original quality of a DSLR refer to? I really havent heard of it yet, but as a enthousiast, Im never too old to learn new terms!

From my point of view, this is what I understand in a few words:

Original quality = Analog quality (RAW)
Digital quality = Digital quality (JPEG processing or post-processing of RAW)

I hope I helped, anyone feel free to correct me, I'm not entirely sure
