Oh right, I forgot you live in Germany :P
For me, it's quite some hours by plane... and it's an expensive trip if you ask me

Indeed. For what I'd have to pay in order to get to Mexico and back and get a restaurant there I guess I could get a nice 7D or a used 1Ds Mark II.

I think that before 2012 ends, I'll be buying my first DSLR, that's of course, if everything goes as planned :)

My R-Strap kicked my a$$ last night. I was getting home from the store and saw how nice the little sliver of moon looked with the last few minutes of sun-setting color. I ran in grabbed my gear and headded down to the park. I coouldn't get my r-stap off quick enough and put my tri-pod mount on to get a good photo :?

My computer's CPU just hit a record temperature: 72º C. I put in a lot of data for it to process and it just went crazy. I hope that it wasn't too hot and I hope it didn't cause any damage.
By the way, I love this widget that I use to monitor my computer's temperatures, can't remember the name of it though :?

72º C is nothing to worry about, but keep an eye out if it goes much past 80º C... cause you might want to remove some dust ;)

You probably have a CPU that has thermal-throttling. Which will if it notices dangerous temperature ranges, clock the CPU down too reduce the heat, this works somewhat perfectly in my opinion. And has been a feature for both Intel and AMD for many years now.

Thanks for the advice! Probably that's what caused my PS3 to malfunction, it was really dusty when I opened it to see what was the problem :?
Anyways, I am almost 100% sure my computer will warn me if the CPU is way too hot (it's Intel and not that old), but I just like taking precautions.
By the way, when my CPU is too hot, I sleep the computer and I just let the heat escape the CPU.

why do so many of our species have tunnel vision when it comes to photography and then piss and moan when you compare shots at the end of the day...

Perfect subject for another article...

Of 4 weather forecasts, two say it will be clear tonight, two say it wont. Do I setup the astro rig or not?...

Elsewhere: if this comes to market then I'm more likely to get a NEX than an EOS M.

They just wait for you. If you set up the astro rog it won't be clear tonight, but if you don't it will be clear. :)

I hate the rain, especially if I have to cycle through it...
