 Post subject: d5100 lense help
PostPosted: Thu Sep 27, 2012 10:30 pm
Hi all

new to dslr but have made up my mind to purchase the d5100 opposed to the d3200 or canon 550

anyway i can get the d5100 as a kit with the 18-55 vr lens for £389
and would consider buying for £129 the Nikon AF-S DX VR 55-200mm F4-F5.6 G
total £518

or i can get the d5100 as kit with the 18-105 vr lens for £520

so basicaly the same price but as im no expert but in my logic first option better buy?

what i want the camera for is to obviously take good quality pics mainly be able to take family shots, portrait shots, landscape, scenary, and low light conditions, sunsets etc which my point and shoot dont do

could you please help me choose and why

i am aware/think that a 50mm f1.4 or f1.8 would be ideal portrait lense but at the moment this would be at a later date

i chose the d5100 over the 3200 because better reviews and things like bracketing and the problems you could get with 24mp
and in general both came out better looking at the graphs than the canon all beit the d5100 3200 where more a less the same one being better in one and the other being better in the other but no expert lol

many thanks
