Well... I think both the 28-135mm and the 50mm 1.8 are OK if you can live with that build quality but without a fixed aperture (28-135mm) and without weather sealing - and the 5D with its 12MP isn't as demanding as the 5D2 or 3. Still...

The 5D is just lacking the sensor shake cleaning, the very good screen and the video mode. The viewfinder is nice and big and you can use replacement focusing screens (very nice if you adapt M42 or so - that's the main reason why I think of getting a 5D myself as a second camera), and - as written - it should be a tad better at high ISOs but still not as good as the 5D2.
