Abandon gold mine boom town is now a CA state park and great photo op. Pano made with MS Image Composite Editor and, a bit of exposure control in LR. Used my 50mm 1.8D and a 77mm circular polarizer. Keeping the filter effect balanced on the sensor is a bit or work it turns out.

The panoramic is not bad but I think you could have included the buildings in the foreground. I like the dead pan sky - I can relate to that here also !

I really like your second shot showing the dry aged wood. Really like that shot! Love the window and the scene through it. Great positioning.

Would like to see a few more... I know you have them...too many opportunities here!

I could possibly have gotten more and, wanted to - but not much more. I'd have had to level my tripod which is doable but, I did not have the tool kit on me.
Have a look lat 38°12'47.26"N , long 119° 0'51.47"W on google earth.
You'll see (fuzzily) that the structures are about 15-20 yards/meters away from where the snaps were taken.
The snaps would have had to have been taken from a spot a bit closer to the bldgs which is slightly lower compared to their roof tops. What irks me about the pano is the darkening as the snaps pointed into the setting sun. The eastern snaps looked nice, the western ones remain too dark even after working on exposure in Lr. Never really noticed it while shooting. In post, was surprised by how little else Lr could reveal.
