Shot 1 looks very oversharpened - perhaps it is my laptop screen, but it looks as if the whole shot has been sharpened too much. Not so much of an issue in shot 2 as there isn't much depth in that shot, but the out of focus foreground and background doesn't look so great. Perhaps look into selectively sharpening?
