Hey, folks,
I was trying to take a few macro shots today with the D7000 as a commander, and an SB-700 as a remote. However, no matter what I tried, the SB-700 wouldn't fire. My first thought was that one of the settings was entered incorrectly, so I double checked, but there was nothing wrong from what I could see (pop-up set to commander, flash and camera set to same channel, etc). I then reset the settings, thinking that a previous setting that I entered affected the flash's ability to fire, but even then it didn't work. I took the flash into the local store and tried it with their D7000 on display and it worked fine, so I'm assuming that it's a problem with the camera, but I'm still mystified.
What throws me off even more is that when I set the D7000 to the "AA" setting, the SB-700 beeps when I fire the flash, and the display darkens, as it would if I was shooting normally, but the flash still doesn't fire. Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to send it into Nikon as it will be who knows how long before I get it back, but I don't know what else could be causing the flash not to fire. Any suggestions?
Thanks
