If the ravens Yoully and Dually (names of old tv ad talking beer mugs) weren't there posing for me, it would have been easy to crop to the right side of the road side marker and have a cleaner snap. In pursuit of improvement, another snap was taken from up the hill behind me. There was a cleaner snap higher up but during the time it took to get up there, Yoully and Dually had moved on. Without those two, the content was not as good. I will clean up this snap when CS6 finds it's way onto my computer. Wonderful and greatly appreciated

Artistic License here, the answer for me at least to my original question has emerged- rearrange the scene. Using Artistic License has not been one of my learning priorities. In trying to develop an eye and understand the mechanics of photography, my inclination has been to try producing faithful photographic recordings. To document.
