This is just outside of Socorro NM. I tried to find a website for them and was not able to.
Tamron 70-300, f/5.6, 1/800sec, 191mm.
Had to do MAJOR touch up because there was a forest fire a few 100-miles away contributing to some crappy air. I focused on the closest dish and as you can see there are serious heat waves in the background. I tried a new trick in CameraRAW and added a blue gradient to help the sky. Let me know what you think

Hi Mike,

The website is at NRAO Very Large Array.

Quote:
The VLA hosts tours EVERY FIRST SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH from 11:00AM - 3:00 PM including hands-on, family friendly activities related to the monthly theme. The event culminates in an evening Guided Night Sky Star Gazing at the Etscorn Observatory on the Campus of NM Tech in Socorro. The night time event begins at dark and lasts two hours, weather permitting. Contact Judy Stanley (jstanley@nrao.edu) at 575-835-7243.

Are you tempted?

Bob.

 Well, I guess if I called it the right thing, I guess I could find it.

Yes, I would be very tempted. Problem is the smoke from the fires are messing things up, will have to watch the weather.
