Hi im after a new camera and just after abit of advice. This camera will be used only for my hobby which is fishing and mainly used for taking pictures of my catches and also self portraits of me with my catch hence the swivel screen. With the odd scenic and wildlife shot thrown in.

Im quite new to photgraphy and this is going to be my step up from your usual point and shoot cameras.

Will there be much difference in the image quality between the 2 cameras i have mentioned in the situation i will be using them in which will include low light and even the odd portrait at night.

Please advise which you think suits my needs and if you have any other suggestions apart from these 2 let me no.

Cheers Rick

Assuming a fast/bright lens (e.g. 20mm f1.7) on the G2, yes, it will do better in low light than the G11.

You'll probably want a longer lens for "the odd wildlife shot", tho - Mark
