:( Ive looked again at the CD that came with my NEX-5N.When i choose to install the Video application a splash screen says "You are useing win vista or win7 with is not compatable installation cancelled"
I Think i must either have win XP or win 7 pro which costs another $140 i have win basic

Sony software has almost bankrupt the company, the MP3 players which are super hardware work better when the CD with sony software is put in the bin they have spent so much time worrying about piracy they forgot the client

Im sure when i get an old XP laptop it will work or ill install win XP pro i downloaded from piratebay some months ago

In the mean time i use MP4

Hi contrast,

I did a quick Google search using most of the terms in your thread's title. Is this Sony support page of any use to you? The download is earmarked for the NEX-7 but if it doesn't work for you then maybe there's a similar page for the NEX-5 somewhere?

The compatibility problem appears to be restricted to "Picture Motion Browser" and "Cyber-shot Viewer" according to that Sony page.

Bob.

Ill have a look at the link in a moment.I must say its annoying id like to be able to use or try video otherwise i would use MP4 as its easier to use

im very slowly getting to make better films,

so they know about the problem. It will be the same download for the NEX-5N

now i hope i can try my optional video

Thanks for the link,we dont have ADSL nor internet or portable phone reception in the French contryside so looking for things isnt always easy.Im sitting outside a wifi connection in town with a tourch and fishing stool and lucky the connections on
