hello!
I was wondering if there were any differences between shooting in black and white or any other settings on the camera, to shooting it normal and then using a processing software to change it to black and white or other styles!
Is one way more recommended?

Best to shoot in colour and then change to black and white using software, because if you shoot in black and white you cannot change it back to colour.

i read somewhere that it's actually better to shoot colour from the start as it contains more information, which can later be used to manipulate the picture even more than if it was shot originally in black and white.

Therefor when you change a colour photo into black and white in an editor, it should be of a slightly better quality.

Can any of the experienced members confirm this?

...... yes ......

EDIT: and there are many different ways to do the above........ one of my favourites, shoot in raw, using the RAW converter, desaturate by moving the saturation slider all the way to the left, and all the other sliders to control the B&W conversion.........
