Well that explains the size, and now that I googled it, the price.... wow, I think that with $26,000 USD I'd better buy a car or something...... crazy awesome lens :D

With a price like that, it should include a car!

My brother said the same thing. And you need a car if you want to take the lens anywhere. There were some nice reviews on Amazon (now they removed the lens) like "When I was at home shooting a wedding in the church next town, the police came and asked why I have that rocket thrower in my window." and things like those. Of course fake but those "reviews" were just great. I imagine people with that lens walking through the zoo.

If you need a tripod, you're not strong enough, Jiko
But here's a "selfy" from me - and please notice: I could carry my gear without the help of a tripod):

Well - other people using my equipment for a while complain about the weight. But I guess for that lens I'd have to train a bit more :D http://www.juzaphoto.com/article.php?l=en&article=64
