Kate in a swimming pool - one shot from a photoshoot for the cover of a local magazine, where I was asked to be a featured photographer for their black and white edition.
The concept sounded easy, but was quite a challenge in a pool with no shallow end!
Shot on Nikon D700 and 70-300 VR, using two 24" soft boxes camera left and right (SB900 and SB700) with an SB600 through a snoot as a hair light.
The challenge was to get as much right in camera as possible. The softboxes had to be aimed upwards to feather the light on Kate, and a 7m silk backdrop was used to flag the light spill underwater and wrap round as as a backdrop, otherwise there would be glistening blue mosaic tiles everywhere and some freaky reflections underwater.
Hopefully I'll get to work again soon with Kate - far too much bikini body was under wraps and underwater!
