Somewhere some time it was suggested, probably in humorous way, that in addition to the "What have you just bought" thread (here), we should have a "What have you just sold" thread. So here goes..

I just sold my Canon 17-55/2.8 (replaced by a 24-105/4L)

I am struggling with what to sell, today, as my latest lens purchase, yesterday, was definitely over-budget.

I should look what I could sell in order to get the 5D3 a little bit earlier :D But there is hardly anything I wouldn't miss.

Canon 24mm 2.8

Tokina 17mm AT-X

I decided to keep a couple of things on which the offers were a bit low. This was at a local camera shop.

I sold my Olympus E520 + twin lens kit, wide converter, bag, memory cards, UV, CPL filter for..
$300! - but that was buddy rates.

I miss it's handling but my new Panasonic G3 manages better IQ

I sold a 50mm 1.4, 100mm 2.8 macro USM, and 55-250 EF-S as a down payment towards a 70-200 2.8 IS last January. (Kinda old news, but most recent camera related sale for me.)

Not technically selling, but I donated all my National Geographic mags to the workplace breakroom magazine rack this week.

The main reason is the FF compatibility of the 24-105L as a I want my newly acquired 5D2 to be my new general purpose camera. The 17-55/2.8 is a great lens, and when I bought it I never thought I would ever sell it. I didn't think FF was for me, but things have changed since then

And with the 5D2 it's easy to use slightly higher ISOs to compensate the smaller aperture.

Ah, gotcha. I keep forgetting the 17-55 is an EF-S

Already a couple weeks back, but I sold my 50mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4 and the Sony A700. Which means I've gone fully Leica now. Just the M9-P and D-Lux 5.

Similarly to Bjorn so far as timing is concerned, I sold my 5D2 a while back and my EF 85mm f/1.2L USM a few weeks ago. That lens turned out to be very cheap to own as I got virtually the full purchase price back, prices having gone up somewhat over my period of ownership. Unlike Bjorn I'm not quite ready to commit to Leica yet as I want to see what they are about to announce next month!

Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM

Total cost of ownership over five years was less than the cost of advertising and selling it, just! :)
