Interesting theme... doubt I'll be able to take part as I'm writing finals and then being on the road for 2.5 weeks but should be interesting to see what everyone comes up with :)

Just an FYI Bjorn - those links you posted in the Submissions thread are broken.

Hello Everyone,

Newly registered and eager to share...now onto the question.

I am fairly naive when it comes to this months topic. Are there any legal issues one might encounter doing a mock up commercial shot of a specific brand etc?

Thanks,

-Taran

Thank you very much Lensbaby :D
Every encouragement received from friends here helps me in involving more thought process while trying for the shots. And trying out differently always increases the chance of better output, IMHO.

My approach towards a theme of “commercial photography” was- a commercial or advertisement is some thing which would draw attention of the target group and try to obtain their endorsement of the view/product that the advertiser presents. In this case the shot posted tries to obtain endorsement of the viewers towards the motive to sustain the innocence (alleviate poverty) of these street urchins....before it gets lost for ever.
I felt the submission portrays - innocence of those kids with strong evidence that it will be fleeting. The motion blur betrays their own world along with a sense of unstability.

Best of luck to all participatns.

Regards,

Thanks Ryan for pointing that out, I changed the link and they all work now.

To be on the safe side I would create my own brand or logo, sure would not want anyone to be accused of copyright infringement. On the other hand, maybe they will love your idea and want it. So the choice is up to you. Seeing that this is an assignment, I would think it would be okay.

Interesting idea for this month's challenge, I have a few ideas already.

What are the limits for PP?

You guys are ripping through this assignment with some exceptional shots. The first submission of the joyful children, the para sail with the fantastic color, the urban clothing ad with the strong shadow, Mike's slow fizz, and the rock climbing shot from above..I am amazed at the diversity. Great work photographers.

I think I'll try for something humorous, assuming I ever get off my lazy butt and do it.
