I've got Nikon not long time ago and run into problem when Aperture locks, when selected, let say 16, and takes pic OK. but when I change Aperture back to 1.8 it would stay the same as it was at 16, and the only way to get 1.8 if I jig Lv twice, or turn camera off and on again. I realize that I probable need to change in settings or I did something that cause it to "lock"

When the f/1.8 is selected, the lens will not immediatly set it up. When you press the shutter release button halfway down, it should change. What you are experiencing is normal. When you are in say f/16, then you set f/1.8 and taka a pic, it will be f/1.8.

Thank you for getting back to me.
I have a feeling that its normal, since it stays locked only in live view.
But I'm not sure it will not affect pic quality, since if it in f16 and I have had set new f1.8, that could cause other settings like shutter speed or expo. being different than if the aperture is wide open to f1.8...
