Aloha Everyone I am John from Hawaii and new here! I am looking for a camera to take close-up photo's of my Fishing Lures? The camera must Photograph bright colors and copy the true colors! I am not a professional but I guess I can learn a little bit! Thanks for your feedback! Aloha John

Ok, Well your post alludes to the fact that you want something simple to operate. I'd just like to say that once you breach the DSLR gap then all the cameras operate the same. Well, the Point and Shoots operate the same to, but you generally can't control any of the actions, it does it all by itself, albeit usually wrong, haha.

DSLR's will give you superior color and define the image much better that a P&S. That's a given. For really close up photography people use something called a macro lens. This type of lens can be used for general photography, but it does has it limits. The other options is to get whats called a "kit" lens - which has the standard focal lengths (zooms) that most use most of the time. If you go this option, you can still take photos of your lures, but you can also use your camera for general every day use. Make sense?

The colours from you Lumix may not be true due to varyious lighting when you are photographing your lures. Are you indoors or outside?

Indoors, different light like fluro or halogen will throw out the colours, same as sunlight or overcast days.

For consistency try indoors using the flash with white balance in auto, which is what it should be by default.

Since you are familiar with the Lumix range you could consider upgrading to a newer model ?
