just bought a new canon t3i eos....to replace my aging sony dsc-h2.....it was a tough choice between the t3i and nikon 5100, but the cannon won the war....my first camera was a nikon coolpix which i liked, but the new menu in the 5100 nikon is tough to navigate from what i read, not the only reason i bought the t3i, but one...i also own a allmost new cannon printer, which i am going to use with my new camera....now learn how to use it, i am biginner in photography, lots to learn

how can i learn how to use this camera effectly?

Welcome onboard, and congrats on a great camera! :) I have a 600D myself, in addition to a 50D. I would recommend Gordon's tutorials and other photography channels on youtube. And most important of all: practice, practice, practice!
