I have been taking advantage of this great forum for a couple of years. My most recent posting was under Panasonic, where I sought and received very helpful advice on a lens question.

You posted to the thread saying that it would have been better to have posted that to a Sticky Topic for the particular camera.

As the camera you helped me select is now on its way, I have some additional questions concerning lenses and filters, but I don't understand why you think it is better to add those questions to an existing, permanent, container? I am perfectly happy to do what is best, but doesn't having a variety of topics, spread over time, accumulating in one big bucket, make it harder for all concerned?

Please let me know whether asking for help in selecting a telephoto adapter for the DMC FZ150 by adding to the container thread for the camera is better behavior from your point of view than creating a specific topic for that under the overall Panasonic umbrella. I am sure I will get great advice either way, but I want to adhere to the advice you gave for the way I did it the last time.

Hi tcorbet, I personally prefer to keep most questions and comments in the sticky threads I've created for each popular camera as they can easily help others in the future. If you post a new comment by itself, we will spend the same time answering it, but it'll get lost quickly as more nre posts are added.

I think if people are willing to spend some time answering a question that it should remain visible as a resource for all to see. I agree this can however make reading the sticky thread quite laborious, but if you give your reply a new title, then it will show up in search results.
