In a bit of a quandry at present, I want to slim down my cameras collection to just 2 maybe then they will get more use.

At present I have an old EOS 30D with Sigma 17-70, 70-300 APO & EX380 Flash, a Panasonic LX3, Panasonic GF2 & Panasonic TZ10.

I am finding I use the LX3 all the time, because of its size. The TZ10 i bought solely for a trip to Australia last year and hasnt been used since. The 30D has taken approximately 200 photos from new its too big and bulky for me......but the quality is superb

I have decided to sell the 30D, the LX3 and the TZ10 and keep the GF2 plus its 14mm & 14-42mm lenses.

Now though I am stuck, I like the idea of the G3 but worry its too small especially if i buy the 45-200 lens for it. Only other option as i see it is a newer smaller SLR like the Canon 600D and use my lenses.

What would you suggest, stick with M4/3 or keep the GF2 and get a APSC SLR? Very interested in video hence my decision to sell the 30D

If you're interested in video and are already invested in m4/3, then I'd suggest you take a look at the Panasonic GH2 with the 14-140mm kit lens.

It's a very popular camera for video too and can easily handle the 45-200mm lens due to the larger grip. The 14-140 has been designed with video in mind though and you can get good deals on the kits at the moment so that could be used instead of the 45-200mm if you don't mind the shorter reach.

You can still use all your Canon lenses on m43 with an adapter - manual focus only.

While I completely agree with the above post, I'm curious why you (the OP) aren't keeping the LX3 since "I use the LX3 all the time".

Everything sorted now i kept my LX3 and sold the rest. Am looking at buying a 600D now

Now, if I may, since you're very interested in video, a quick comparison of Canon vs Panasonic:

Canon cannot autofocus while shooting video. Panasonic can (with selected lenses).

Canon's downscaling algorithm particularly susceptible to moire. Panasonic less so.

Canon limited to 12 minute takes. Panasonic U.S. models only limited by free space on SD card; non-U.S. models limited to 29 minutes, 2.5 times longer than Canon.

Ok so a slight change of plan kept my LX3 and complimented it with a FZ150

I second the GH2 recommendation.. Its BARELY bigger than a G3, and you can get them pretty cheap. I picked one up with 14-42 for 699$. I also have the GF2, and think its a good combo.

I tried the G3 and really didnt like the EVF, seemed much smaller than the GH series, but im not 100% on that.

You may also want to wait and see on the olympus om-d or maybe GH3 if your not in a rush..
