These are Indian squirrels, very similar to chipmunks.

Thank you Thomas and Wolfsong.
Here is a squirrel which must have been a walrus in previous birth...carrying on with the 'tusk' even now :)
Before any chance to get the photo of other side, it was chased away by a crow wanting the bread.

Jagadish. 1st time I heard those little fellas in the trees I wondered what they were. Very noisy critters.

Fabulous `portrait` Wolf. Lovely warm light & real curious expression.

Yes oldCarlos, they are as noisy as they are restless....always in a hurry to move with never ending debates going on ....don't have much time for photo sessions :)

Wolf, if you would agree to take a similar photo of mine..... am more than willing to peep from behind.... well a door frame :)
One small question, is this fabulous warmth from natural ambient light or is it from reduced kelvin in WB?

Regards,

Was following this little guy around a while ago as he was searching the snow for acorns.

I like the first pic cause of the oak leaf... it tells us what he is after on this day.

In the second pic he had just found one and was bringing it up out of the snow. I was a little surprised that 1/1200 shutter speed didnt freeze the action of his hands going to his mouth to grasp the acorn.

The last pic was taken a split second later as he was shaking the snow off his head. I like the effect of a little blur on the head but the snow particles flying off are frozen in time.

These were only cropped... will do some PP on them at some point.

Love the snow on his head. Those are great Wolf.

Sitting on the fence & wondering whether to come closer.

Still keeping his eye on me, but cautiously creeping towards the bird food.
