keyfin, try a camera/lens rental service, perhaps?
If you click on the "support me" tab near top right, a list of links will be revealed, at least one of which is a rental service that will pay a small fee to Cameralabs if you follow the link when you use the service.
My personal take on the two cameras is that a 60D is a glorified Rebel, rather that an upgrade of the 50D. Less metal in the body, no weather-sealing, no micro-focus adjustment! I was waiting to see what the 50D's successor would be, and was disappointed in the 60D. So, I bought a 7D.
Please do understand that I am not saying the 60D is a bad camera, nor that a Rebel is a bad camera. I need pro-tough cameras to use at work, in any weather. As for the 60D's articulating LCD, well I shot a few seconds of video with my first 7D, just to see what all the fuss is about. I then
disregarded video from that point in time. Your needs may vary. These are two cameras, made for different roles. Nobody can decide for you.
