 Post subject: Sigma 28-80mm ideas
PostPosted: Sat Jan 14, 2012 9:41 am
I purchased a Sigma 28-80mm lens for my Canon T3. After reading online I noticed there isn't much of a difference between it and the stock lens 18-55mm.

I was just curious if there is any type of pictures in particular that this lens is used for? Any information would be helpful :)

A 28-80 lens used on a full frame sensor is about the same field of view as a 18-50 lens on crop sensor, so they're used for the same kind of thing in that application. It's just a general purpose lens. Now since you're using it on crop sensor too, the slightly longer maximum focal length can give you a bit of a different look.
