I just wanted to say a big thank you to all cameralabs. When I look back at the past year photography has played a big part in it and this forum has been a big part of my photography.

Good internet forums can be amazing things. I find the way folks are more than prepared to share knowledge, experience, opinion and advice freely and without condition a truly uplifting thing. Its everything thats good about the human condition imo.

I only brought my DSLR in April but since then have learnt so much. This forum has been a place to ask daft questions and get sensible answers even when new members keep asking the same questions over and over again. Also reading posts on cameras I wont own, styles of photography I havent tried and experiences that members have had has increased my background knowledge invaluably while entertaining me at work!

Participating in the 'On Assignments' topics has been challenging and fun and increased my learning curve significantly.

So firstly thank you to Gordon and the moderators for keeping things up and running. Its your friendly, enthusiastic, tolerant and sensible approach that sets the tone here. I've run forums in the past and know it can be a faff sometimes. Your time and efforts are certainly appreciated by this forum user.

Secondly thank you to all the members here, the big posters and the lurkers, the pro's and the amateurs and everyone in between. I've learnt so much from you and been inspired by your images time and time again.

I'm a big believer in what goes around comes around and everyone here has earn't a fantastic 2012 in my opinion.

Happy New Year, I hope 2012 brings you everything you deserve.

Ian

I second that Ian. I found you all in early '11 when I was settled to purchase a camera but was still in Afghanistan. I had learned so much from just listing to you all, I was helping a friend who had a camera shipped to Afghanistan and didn't know what he was doing.

Thanks Cameralabs, I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year!!

Amen, Ian. I, too, am thankful for this place, and am personally grateful to Gordon, the moderators, and the members for a truly place to read and learn.
