I didn't just stop at Orion. Remembering I accidentally caught a red blob previously I went back for another go at it too.

I like those... black veins in it? Some day I hope to have the kit to resolve that close up but my lenses are too slow, and the tracking accuracy wouldn't cope even if I did.

H-alpha only data. Combination of:
1x1 minute (not sure it really adds anything but threw it into the processing mix anyway)
10x2 minutes
7x4 minutes

All at ISO1600. Modified Canon 450D with Astronomik H-alpha filter. Canon 135mm f/2L lens.

Side note: I think the jpeg compression has hit this badly. Might do a png of it instead tomorrow.

24x4 minutes

If you compare top left with bottom right, there is a change in focus. Need to find out exactly what's off axis - the lens or the sensor.

For scale, this is almost the full frame with less processing. Slight cropping to get rid of the slight variations from drift.
