hi everyone new to this site and im just about to buy my first dslr im not very up on all the tech talk at the min after years of telling my partner that this and that would make a great photo i have saved some money and im ganna buy one so firstly im looking at getting a nikon d5000,d80 or d90
also looking at the
Canon EOS 350D and 300d
im looking at these on ebay is it worth buying second hand they are going for around 300 POUNDS or it it better to buy new, thanks for any advice
i look forward to posting my photos and getting some advice on them to
i have seen some amazing photos on here

Hi Nikki, and welcome to the forum.

Personally, I'm totally comfortable buying off ebay - both my body and lens are used. Out of the bodies you've identified both the 5000 and 90 stand out. I'm not being bias to Nikon, but they're just the newer and superior cameras.

Between these two, if its within your budget, I'd get the d90. The ISO quality is higher (we'll get into that after you start shooting a bit). You can see them compared on the link below.



Have you thought about which lens to get, or are you just going to stick with the lens that it comes with first?

Glad to see you have found a good forum where you can get good advice.

I'm new here myself. And to be honest I could not have made my choices without the well gathered and perfectly presented information here.

Although the reviews are not biased this is my choice

I have no problem with ebay but buying new does give you far more benefits. Save the money and buy the body if you can afford nothing more you will have a good foundation...then get the lenses you need from ebay.
