Hello. I am looking at some accesories for macro, and came accross these two items, but can't decide which is better ( I know Ring flash would be the best ). Maybe someone is using something like this and can share with expierience :) 8)

Hi Hunker. Sorry I have no experience with lighting, but my mate who's into his macro, recently sold his Nikon ringflash because he gets better results with his SB900. He has a home made `coke-can diffuser` that he attaches to it.

I suppose it depends if you actually need a ringflash for specific subjects. :?

It's not an instant messaging board Hunker, be patient ;)

I would stay away from LED. It's often just not bright enough to properly light your subject, especially not at the small apertures you need to get sufficient DOF.

yes i know, i am not patient person :?
I think i will go for adapter, as it is much cheaper then proper ring flash, and then, i can buy ring flash if i find it useful.

Give this a try http://www.flickr.com/groups/macroviewe ... 312315664/ it may be better AND save a few quid. Brians' (LordV) macro pics are spectacular.
