I think I was 8 (about 1993) and I got my frist camera from my cousins, as they came down from America to see us in Sydney. It was wierd Chinese brand of camera. (It came in a plastic wrap, like the ones earphones, or cheap CD players come in today - the ones you cant open without scissors)

We went on an entire week of holiday outings with them, and went to the Australian Zoo. At the time, Steve Irwin was not really famous, but a big attraction at the Queensland Zoo. I had lots of pictures of the guy.

Now my camera didnt come with a strap, so I attached an elastic string. It was kinda strong, but it made my camera bounce as I held onto it. While waiting in a line, a kid nudged me as he passed and the camera bounced up, left my hand, flung into the air, then landed on the ground making a Wiiiiiiirrrrrrrhhhhh sound as it lay there.... There was a roll of about 48 exposures (yes, remember them?) in that camera, and they were all gone, I hadn't rewinded the camera then, so they were all exposed to light. It would be 5 years until I get the guts to use AND buy a new camera (My Pentax)
