It will work, but this isn't a problem with any motherboard with PCIe 16x support.

Any reasons to why you are buying a motherboard with 1156 instead of 1155? 1155 is a tiny bit cheaper per Mhz*

Also, this motherboard supports crossfire and 3-fire. But the two red PCIe slots are too close to allow graphic cards with dual slot cooling.

**** Update ****
The Core i5 6xx processors (dual-core) really weren't that great, even 3 years ago. Better than a Core 2 Duo, sure- but overpriced. The Core i5 7xx processors (which were true quads) only cost about $10-$15 more.

But nowadays forget LGA 1156 and go LGA 1155. Even the Core i3 2100 outperforms the original Core i5's.

Yes, that motherboard has a PCI-E x16 slot (three of them, actually) so it's fine. However, your power supply must be strong enough to support the Radeon HD 3870- which is a different issue from the motherboard.

Do you already have a first-generation LGA 1156 Core i3/i5/i7 CPU? If not, there's reason to buy a socket LGA 1156 motherboard, because the 2nd gen Sandy Bridge processors (socket LGA 1155) are much better performers for the money.

Any mother board can support the graphics card. If you have to install graphics card then there is always open slot available to plug a graphics card in it. Graphics card can extends your monitor's video quality.
