Hi All

I am planning to buy Manfrotto 55XPROB with 808Rc4 or 804 RC2 heads..

Is it a good combination for wildlife , sports and esp bird photography???

Please suggest me so that i can go ahead on the same.

PS: I have never used tripods so far and the reason going for 808 and 804 heads are because of their handles(assuming that it will be easy to handle)..

I think you'll want a ballhead or a wimberly head (or the manfrotto cheap alternative) for sports and bird photography.

Agreed - ballhead is the way to go.

Make sure the tripod & ballhead are rated for the correct weight of your equipment, (camera, lens, gimbal etc ) maybe even better to get a higher rated set up 1st, than find out later you could do with a more solid set up.

I'd go for a ball head or a wimberly gymbal, but I'd also consider going for the 055CXPRO carbon fiber model, asnthe aluminium 055 versions are very heavy.
