Hi, i'm not sure if this is the right place for this post so if there is a more appropriate sub forum please feel free to move it there.

I'm going to be attending the firework display at Blackheath, south London on Saturday evening and I was wondering if any one on the forum had experience of photographing the event? I'm really looking for reccommendations of the best places to set up for longer exposures using a tripod etc.

So i guess no one's been to Blackheath fireworks then! It all went well, a position by the church seemed to be the best bet. It was very busy but plenty of room for a tripod.

You have to admit your post was pretty darn specific

That's true, I guess it was a bit of a long shot. It was my first time trying to photograph fireworks so I thought I'd ask. I'll try and post some shots, but I think people are probably sick of firework shots by now!

We'd love to see your shots! We're always willing to help you improve if we have any tips to offer.

I find that shooting fireworks almost always need a tri-pod, and if you can't place it down or you don't have one handy to steady your camera and use IS/VR.
