The Aurora is at strom levels right now, should hold for next hour. It's daylight and cloudy here in Anchorage so no luck for me :x

If you are in North Central USA you should be able to see it; Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Northern Idaho, Washington (state), maybe Wisconsin

Not familure with the UK but the map says could be seen in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, maybe? You would need to look towards the Northern Horizon

I don't know much about the Antarctic Aurora but the map says it can be seen by the far south end of New Zealand

Here in Winnipeg (about an hour and a bit from the North Dakota-Canada border) it's a clear, cloudless night but I don't see the aurora. I do see something that may be it, but it's very faint and may end up being just some wisps of clouds. I'll try a few shots, but I'm not expecting any spectacular outcome. Hopefully it's not too late!

This is the main site I follow http://www.gi.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast Pay no attention to the big pic in the center of the page, look at the smaller one on the right. Then on the left down a bit you can change to different maps.

This one, http://www.softservenews.com/aurora.htm If you follow them on Twitter they only post for major events, then you set up Text notification every time they post something and your all set.

I'm still so depressed it is SO cloudy here. May go out in a bit and see if I can see some color in the clouds that isn't city

Thanks for sharing the site, Mike.

Looks like there isn't much hope for Winnipeg, it's a shame! :( Out last storm was about a month ago, one of the best that I've seen in years, but there was too much cloud to do any photography. What luck!

I've gotta get to bed soon anyways, waking up at 6:30 isn't fun when you've been out taking pictures and got to bed at 3:00!
