Hey guys, I just bought a D7000 for home and the office. I am a dentist and wanted to use the camera for intra-oral pics as well. I have purchased a sigma 140-em ring flash and was going to purchase a used nikon 105mm VR macro from a local photographer but the guy has disappeared of the face of the earth so I wont be getting that any more.

I figure I will just buy the nikon used somewhere else or a new one. I was also thinking to post here and see if anyone has any thoughts on other lenses. I have a dentist friend who loves the tokina macro and know another who uses a sigma what works well.

Any thoughts, as I will be using it for work pictures but perhaps also the odd portrait at home and some macro photography as well.

Do I really need the anti vibration feature for macro??

THanks in advance!

Greg

The Tokina 100mm macro is a very highly-regarded lens. We have one for Canons, which I have used for macro and non-macro shooting, and I have strongly considered purchasing one for my wife to use on her D7000.
