Heya,
Took this picture under a bridge the other day. Took a color picture and this b/w picture, and the color one is really booring. This b/w picture is however more interesting if you ask me.

I like it a lot, and it's another candidate for a new section - still life.

Should we have a seperate still life section, or include it as part of the macro section?

I think that a "still life" section would be a good idea.

I like the shot. B&W shots always have some character to them.

I am however a bit concerned about my camera. As you see in this picture, the "whites" is a bit low and i cant really get the crisp charpness im looking for.

It actually seems like i have to adjust levels towards the right part in most of my pictures.
Look at this histogram and you know what i mean. The right part is almost allways "flat"


I had the camera in P-mode, and white balance on a cloud as it was a cloudy day.

And then again... the sharpness. Dont know if its the lens or whatever. Camera didnt have any problem autofocus so...

If you don't already do it then consider shooting in RAW or RAW + Large Fine JPEG. The RAW files provide much better opportunities to make adjustments during post-processing with programs like Canon's DPP.
