To keep it simple roughly in US $$$
Not interested in who spends how much, more to get an idea of how much this hobby has cost you. Its not meant to be a contest.

Ok... that's scary now I put a total on it. It doesn't feel that bad when you get something now and then, even if each one might not be small. As a rough estimate, if I had to buy everything again new today (fair used price if not available new) then I think I'm looking at US$17k  It's too complicated to work out what I spent, particularly as the US$ exchange rate has fluctuated significantly in recent years.

I have been partially concerned that even my "walkaround" kit bag contents are probably worth more than my car now, although my car isn't worth much.

Ooh, I just realised I didn't include my compact, mirrorless or scope in the above total... that could roughly add another 1k on.

The missing 2-5k seems to be an omission and I'm sure a mod can edit it in.

And for those too lazy to look it up, at the moment £1 = US$1.54.

@Wolfsong, is that your lifetime spend or an estimated current value?

That's really a missing range but I went for 5000-10000 - it will come.
