I hope I'm not starting a new one here - the argument of the biggest argument?

Of course this isn't anything serious, and I didn't put every possible option down but hope I got the more popular ones covered.

I don't have the ability to edit in any more options now, but if anyone really feels a desperate need for something else maybe a mod can do it?

HDR or not to me I'd lump in with the "how much processing" question. Kit vs skill is an interesting one but to me that doesn't really spark the bigger arguments the others can.

There's one more I thought about - which raw converter, or more generically, what processing software. Often boils down to Lightroom vs Photoshop, with a hint of Aperture and maybe even GIMP thrown in too.

I guess I haven't said my personal pet hate, and that's the gross mis-understanding on MPs I see out there. In particular, the myth that fewer MPs will always be "better" that has recently resparked, again, with the Nikon 36MP rumour.

A couple of years ago I'd have said "Canon vs. Nikon". Maybe I should still have voted for that but I'm beginning to wonder just how relevant those two old dinosaurs are these days.

Only joking, I think , but maybe the debate "du jour" is now "Mirror or mirrorless" as that is where more significant choices lie in terms of size, handling and features.

Pure technical debates are kind of dumb honestly...they are clearly some fields were Nikon is untouched by Canon & viceversa. For example: CLS,excellent quality/price for amateurs & a full frame camera that does everything for ~2500$ for Nikon's side vs. a wider selection of tele lenses for Canon in the pro range,the 85mm F/1.2,amazing movie mode etc.

Also,there is no such thing as "over processing",it all depends on how good the photographer really is & how skilled he is in editing.

The smartest debate I could ever think of it's : zooms vs primes. They are soooo many scenarious were you can use each type efficiently.(starting of course from the argument that primes offer bright apertures & excellent sharpness for low prices)

I wasn't intending to repeat those debates in this thread, but on processing, there is a question if there is some degree of processing where the output can no longer be called a photo. Some people may set that line at various levels, or even have no line at all as long as a photo was involved at any point!

On this forum there doesn't seem to be a Canon vs Nikon debate, but there is a CaNikon vs Sony and the others discussion trundling on

My current personal debate revolves around "Is Adobe worth it?"

Can a combination of free software meet my needs and save me a rack of cash?

NB- debate is good, it enhances understanding as long as its done sensibly of course

Has to be Canon vs Nikon vs whoever. Mirror vs mirrorless is gaining a lot of traction too.
