 Post subject: problem with d5100

Hi having a problem with d5100 bought in June. The message coming up is "error press shutter release button again" Has anybody else come across this?? The camera simply refuses to work at all!!! :cry: :cry: :cry:

I'd take it back but if your feeling frisky there's a few sudgestions on how to fix it yourself about half way down the page here.

It's a D40 so I have no idea how similar the internals are.

I seem to remember this being a memory card problem on the older cameras.
Try changing the memory card, which may be faulty and take the battery out and back in.
Just an idea

Good news! Sent the camera to a Nikon authorised service centre in Ireland on Tuesday & had it back repaired on Thursday morning, now thats what I call great customer service, all done under warranty. By the way the issue was the "mirror reflex assembly" whatever that means, all I know is I'm a happy boy :D :D :D :D
