Critiques welcome. Not sure about the composition of this one. Dark on the left side but I wasn't sure that taking it out left the pic very balanced. For those following Lake District images you will note that rain is on the way again!

Know what you mean Kiwibloke. Used to go out there now and again myself. On the other hand, you'll be seeing things that most people never will, so hang on to the memories.

We are going into port tomorrow somewhere in Norway so should have the chance to get some photos, hope the weather is good.

WM. for me I would clone out the tree, it's a distraction to a sleepy landscape, what was to the right of the shot. Still a nice photo, the colours are vivid but natural for me.

Thank you for the tip. I agree, but if I was to try to clone the tree out it would simply leave a black (or white?) hole. I'm not that clever. Off to the right is unfortunately a bit boring. The conifer wood you see starting there continues up a ridge with a plain field in front.

You can see it here from further up the hill, back in April 2008 with a different camera and at a different time of year. You can also see the potential!

Perhaps I should just fell those two trees and keep the home fire burning for a season or two.

Forgot to say that the colours in the original are quite close to what was there. In truth, I posted it because I rather liked the sky, which felt a bit "old masterish" had it been a painting.

Ooops, I was thinking of my own elements 8 and would have replaced the tree with sky. I like the last one also.
