Camera Labs

I have no idea what it'll be called, hence no idea how to search for it. I'm after some kind of plate or other rig that'll let me put two cameras on one mount. No, two tripods doesn't count.

If you're wondering why, I'm hoping to double up on my astro imaging with only one tracking mount. Weight should be no issue as I've used the 300mm f/2.8 on it before no sweat, and nothing I have now is half that heavy. I just need a sturdy way to turn one tripod mount into two...

I hope there's something "off the shelf" I can get and wont have to resort to a custom build.

Hey, that's a neat accessory!

Popo, I had the same problem when I was viewing the space shuttle. I only had one major tripod and wanted to use more than one camera on it. I ran out of time, so just mounted my camcorder on the hotshoe of a 7D which was on the main mount. Worked fine for a light piggyback so to speak, but I'd have preferred a side-by-side plate.

They call them side-by-side plates in the astro world don't they?
