For the last few sessions after powering down and re-starting saved images are not showing on the screen in Playback mode (Which I think I recently switched on). Older images show but new ones pause for a bit and the screen stays black.

We are having the same problem with our Lumix TZ5 - anyone know what is causing it? It has happened on two different memory cards, but interestingly the images are displayed when the card is inserted into our laptop.

Same problem with my FZ28, and on the FZ18 it's become that big that hundreds of pictures simply disappear...

Heard this many times more, it's really a big problem for Panasonic cameras. Why? I dont know.

Panasonic DMC-FZ18, Panasonic DMC-FZ28, Canon G5, Canon 350D, Canon 50D + BG-E2N
Tamron 17-50 2.8, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM,
Canon 18-55 II plus lots of Minolta MD/M42 lenses and bodies

I did find an answer for this, it certainly has worked for my camera.

If you put your memory card into a laptop or card reader and edit it in anyway ie change the rotation of the image and your reader saves this new image, it wont display on your camera. I did a test on this theory and it worked, so hope that might solve the problem for anyone else.
