Didnt know where to put this little guy so placed him here. This is a Pika which is related to rabbits and hares. It's kinda a cool little speices which has adapted itself to life in high apline regions living amoungst rock piles caused by rock glaciers. It rarely if ever wonders more than a few meters from its home. One of the coolest little things about this guy is that throughout the summer it collects vegetation which it dries in different areas for its winter store of food. By summer's end it will have collected up to 23kg... 150 times its own body wieght.. they are only about the size of a mouse... maybe a tiny bit bigger. It spends its time in the crevises within the rocks avoiding preditors so its not an easy critter to photograph...
I only spent about 2.5 hours looking for these little guys so would love to return to the area again to spend some more time photographing them...
