The Lego men made me laugh, not sure what to put up this month.

I keep thinking I have plenty of time and then I run out of time.

Just a couple of hours remaining to submit your entries for this month everyone, the thread closes at midnight GMT today.

Good luck!

I got my sister to do it - I'm just going to process the RAW files and look what's the best one.

A great photo jiko! Nicely done, especially with the bike.

Definitely no point entering now! It's going to take something extraordinary to beat that.

Side note: I was thinking of doing the same myself after seeing a recent digitalrev video on that, but thinking never got turned into doing...

Indeed DRTV is quite a lot of fun and that video was quite a good inspiration. I had never thought about something like that before but it wasn't too hard after some try and error shots (It's hard to find the exact time) and some people laughing seeing my sister jump around everytime a bike was close to her. We tried it with cars in the background but they didn't look as good, less a part of the picture than I wanted them to so we waited for bikes.
There was another good picture with a biker looking at her (well - almost everyone in the background looking at her) but the sharpness wasn't that good and she was directly smiling into the camera so it didn't look as "natural" as the "Yeah, flying here every day. Nothing special." in the picture we chose in the end.

Tried other things, too, like flying around a corner but I guess you need a "professional jumper" for that.

EDIT:

Just a silly one shot earlier this month in Bratislava. Some really good entries on a good theme!

Indeed but I'm sad there were fewer entries than I expected. I wanted to laugh a bit more :D

Hey Jiko, that's great. The only thing that could add to that is if you had a fan or something to get her hair to go back a little :D

Thank you! :)

Lensbaby's dog got my vote - looks very professional and then the (less professional) look upwards - great! :)

Still I liked the Lego men quite a lot, too.

EDIT:
My nephew just saw my "flying" sister and asked: "How is that possible...?"

This month I voted for Jiko. Excellent shot (i assume he used continuous shooting mode). I did not make a shot for august myself, really didnt have a clue what to make of it. The photo was made at the right time and it really looks like witchy women from the eagles. None of the photos are really hysterical humorous and some are even posed so i just voted for the photo that i admired the most.

If we could vote for most humourus name it would be mikeroch.

Thank you!

No, I didn't use continous shooting as with my 500D's slow continous shooting speed it hadn't been exact enough. If I had used a camera with 6 frames or more per second I had probably done so but so I pressed the shutter as soon as she was in "position". Yes, that shot was neither the first nor tha last try ;)
