Gidday, I've just found my old Canon EOS 300 in the loft and with it two lenses, one is a wide angle Cosina and the other is a 70mm to 210mm Sigma, can someone tell if i can get an adaptor so i can fit them to my NEX-5, i see there is some out there but i don't know if i need a A type, E type, Z type or what every, i know these lenses are properly rubbish but i work offshore moving and positioning oil rigs so have to travel light and my bags get thrown around alot so don't what to spend money on new lenses if possible.

Thanks KB

You'll be looking for an EF mount to NEX adapter, in a quick look there appears to be tons on ebay. Just note the EOS system lenses usually don't have any form of aperture adjustment on the lens, so you'll be stuck with using them in whatever state the aperture is in (usually wide open).

We are developing an electronic adapter which interfaces a Canon EF lens to a Sony NEX body. You just set the aperture on the Sony NEX body and shoot (or let the camera decide in Program or Shutter Priority modes). We have already built a successful prototype and is in the process of putting this in production. For more information, look for "conurus" on Twitter, Youtube or Google.

Hi conurus,

Thanks for the heads up and welcome to the forum.

We normally actively discourage advertising on the forum so thanks for not providing any direct links. Good luck with the prototype and thank you in advance for not using the forum to promote sales.

Bob.

Hey, I hope its okay if I semi resurect this thread to ask a question along the same lines. I have a Sony Nex-5 e-mount and I was wondering what sort of reversing ring would work with it?
I dont want to spend the money for the aperature connections, I just dont want to have to hold my lens infront of my camera

Would I be able to buy any sort of adapter and just connect it that way? thanks alot guys.

There are plenty of reversing rings available in myriad filter sizes - just do a quick search on Amazon, Google shopping, etc for 'NEX Reversing Ring'...Fotodiox, Rainbow Imaging, and others all have such products pretty cheap.
