With deal going on with $100-$250 of following lenses on Amazon:

Instant Savings Amount by Lens
$250 off Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR II Nikkor Telephoto Zoom Lens
$200 off Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S VR Nikkor Zoom Lens.
$100 off Nikon 85mm f/3.5G AF-S DX ED VR Micro Nikkor Lens.
$100 off Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom Lens.
$100 off Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
$100 off Nikon 55-200mm f4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom Lens.

a) I need help in choosing between 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR ED Nikkor that comes in Kit vs any of above lenses.

b) I am leaning toward 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR II.
Is it worth the $829.00 - $250 = $579 price ?
Pros: will be able to live with a single lens.
Cons: It has tendency to open up when aiming up or down, High cost

c) would you recommend any other glass from above?

I suggest you consider the 70-300VR as it is a lens which is compatible with APS-C cameras and full frame should you decide to upgrade in future and has good image quality for the price.. The others are average at best, apart from the 85mm macro which may serve as a portrait lens. If you are not that interested in macro then Nikon make an excellent 85mm 1.4f and an almost as good 85mm 1.8f for a lot less money.
The lenses with a lot of discount may save you money but if you are not happy with the image quality it will be a false economy.
If I was building a Nikon lens collection from scratch I would start with the 16-85VR and the 70-300VR. A prime or two would be my next purchases.

if it is going to be your only lens, than i wouldn't recommend getting anything listed, but if you are going to keep 18-105 than i second daves opinion on 70-300 VR lens, it will serve great..
but other than that, for all around lens you should look at 35mm f1.8, and it is really cheap...
