I will be travelling through Northern Portugal and Galicia for two weeks. I will be going to Porto, Santiago de Compostella and Islas Cies, but I would like some further location tips for landscape shots. In particular coastal locations on the Rias Baixas.

If you're going to Porto, try doing a boat cruise up "Rio Douro" you'll see some of the most beautiful mountain sceneries the North has to offer.

@ dubaiphil: Of course I am doing that too, plus checking websites and brochures. However I wondered what the photographers here would advise me, pointing out relative unknown spots.

I would recommend you visit Baiona. if you google "PARADOR DE BAIONA" you will see a hotel on a small peninsular with spectacular views. The coast is very pretty round there and should be on your way

Sorry Soliwo, I didn't mean it to come across negatively.

I find it's one of the best ways to plan a few excursions while on vacations, especially with the sun and shadow positioning tools.

He Dubaiphil. Now you have got me interested. I did not know about the sun and shadow positioning tools, at least not in relation to photography. Thanks! I'll check it out.

And Fudge, thanks for the tip. I think I will at least come across Baiona on my way north from Portugal. I'll make sure I have a bit more time than just a pit stop now.
